Once the heat and the summer holidays have past, we welcome October and autumn with an agenda full of cultural plans. Theatres and music halls have opened their new seasons and students return to school.
The Barenboim-Said Foundation receives this new season with great enthusiasm. After finishing several auditioning and registration processes, the students from our different projects and activities are ready to continue enjoying their music learning experience.
On the 2nd of October the children of the Foundation’s choirs started their classes in Seville. More than 2,500 students, who participate in our Early Childhood Music Education project in Andalusia, will also start their new academic year this month.
The young musicians from our Music Education Project in Palestine also started their classes a few weeks ago at the Barenboim-Said Music Centre in Ramallah. On the 6th of October, they will participate in the first Young Talents concert of this academic year, which they have prepared together with the teachers of this project.
On the 21st and 22nd of October the Academy of Orchestral Studies will open its doors to a new academic year, as well as the 6th edition of our Master’s degree in Orchestral Interpretation.
The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra returns to the Philharmonie of Paris to play works by Strauss and Tchaikovsky. After this concert, the orchestra will play at the London’s Southbank Centre.
