Master’s Degrees. Information.
The Barenboim-Said Foundation strives to make music education more accessible in today’s society, with activities reaching from the first years of the educational process to orchestral high level training. Under this premise, the Foundation has created, together with the International University of Andalusia (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía – UNIA), two innovative master’s degree programs: a Master’s degree in Orchestral Interpretation and a Master’s degree in Music Education. These biennial programs are offered in alternate academic years.
The 5th Master in Orchestral Interpretation took place in academic year 2015/2016 focusing on instrumental practice over theory lessons. Soloists from the Royal Symphonic Orchestra of Seville (Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla – ROSS) trained the students to access the professional orchestral world.
The 4th edition of the Master in Music Education takes place in academic year 2016/2017, including a wide practical and theoretical training in some of the most renowned active methodologies in music education, training specialized teachers.
