Master’s Degree in Orchestral Interpretation
The main objective of this master’s degree is to expose students to various actual circumstances that may occur in an orchestra so that, through practical experience, they can acquire professional problem-solving mechanisms. Therefore, the program is raised from an eminently practical approach, which envisions the correct interpretation as the result of the technique, the knowledge of the music from different historical and analytical perspectives, and the understanding of what is in itself an orchestra and its operation.
It also incorporates the performance of orchestral repertoire auditions, as well
as a series of orchestral lectures, directed by prestigious conductors. For all these reasons, the Master’s degree in Orchestral Interpretation is aimed at those who have a Conservatory or School of Music Superior qualification on one of the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, oboe, flute, clarinet, horn, trumpet or percussion.
The Master is a 60 European credit (ECTS) degree organized, every two years, by the Barenboim-Said Foundation, together with the International University of Andalusia (UNIA).
